An unforgettable experience

Weinprobe The winetasting Spundloch is located in the bright cellar of the "Seyferth House“ – a commercially used building currently shared by seven parties.

Built in 1880, the house was donated to the community of Auerbach (today a district of Bensheim) in 1922 by the widow Selma Seyferth. This generous lady was the niece of the famous chemist Justus von Liebig. Her husband, the chemist Dr. August Hermann Seyferth, ran a quinine factory nearby. The raw materials were stored in the 6m high vaulted cellar.

In September 2002 the Weingalerie Spundloch and its wine shop moved into the cellar and converted it into an event location.

Customers who come to the Spundloch from all over the Rhine-Main-Neckar area are attracted to the excellent selection of wines and expert advice as well as a rich program including excellent wine tastings, poetry readings, art exhibitions, jazz evenings and other cultural events.

How to find us

Bensheim is located between Frankfurt and Heidelberg. Exit the motorways A5 or A67 and follow the Berliner Ring and the Saarstrasse to Bensheim-Auerbach. For details please click on the button "Anfahrtsplan"

Parking

The parking lot for our house along the B3 can only be reached via the Schönbergerstrasse. There are three spaces available during the daytime. Over 30 parking spaces are available around the house with the blue shutters for evening visitors.
